you could have made a seperate (full) child account and link information technology with yours to accept full parental controls, been like this for years.
my kids accept had their own microsoft accounts since they were 4, when y'all create an account for a child yous have to link to an developed account because of the age. and so when they become an developed the business relationship changes to an adult account as this has now happened to my eldest daughters concluding year when she turned 18.

My son is almost 19. If I had known this would be an issue now, I would have put the XBox account on a carve up account from the commencement. It just seemed logical that it would be transferable to his own account when he matured, only apparently that's not the case. I wish they would take made that clear from the get-go.

I am on the same boat and fully concur with y'all. Everywhere you go, people respond as they were defending Microsoft's decision, every bit if 20 years agone there were kids accounts! This is ridiculous cos ive been trying tonworknout how to move my gamertag from and old email to some other one as well to no avail.
Not certain why i have a blank xbox account on my proper email.
almost had made up my listen to get the new xbox but information technology seems like ill never resolve this. Such a pain

I am having the same effect. I purchased XBox 1 as a Christmas souvenir in 2014. At the fourth dimension, my son was a modest. I register the device nether my Microsoft account where I purchased from. Now, he is 22 years old. He has been purchasing his game and register his credit carte du jour data on my Microsoft account. Exchanging/gifting/game sharing nether my account likewise. I opened my account and and so many (virtually cannot count them all) transactions showed on my account. At least, he put his payment information instead of using mine.
He connects so many people online which I am not sure how sensitive I should be. However, it made me so uncomfortable. I understood I would not able to control his activities since he is an adult, but I do to want to have him employ my account.
Also, check your Skype business relationship. XBox One does not require to accept Skype business relationship, simply it will ask yous to make one if you do not have one. Microsoft acquired Skype about 10 years ago, and XBox I used that every bit a chat part one time (non anymore). My Skype account is gone. It is showing my son's name and deleted all of my contacts. (I do not use Skype too much anymore, but I sometimes do.) He connected close to 300 people at that place and still unknown people are trying to connect to the business relationship.
